William Carpenter, Advisor (former Chief Branch Instructor)
William Carpenter has been a student of Master Hidy Ochiai since 1971 and holds the rank of Shichi-Dan (7th degree black belt). Mr. Carpenter was Wa-shin Ryu’s chief branch instructor and founder of the branch in the Capital Region from 1987 to 2019. Master Ochiai assigned Mr. Carpenter the role of Komon (Advisor) in 2019. Mr. Carpenter is known for both his will-power, physical and mental strength, as well as his steady, even-handed patience and insight in overcoming difficulties in training. He is a highly respected and successful competitor and instructor in Wa-shin Ryu Karate-Do. |
